Sylvia Thompson RIP
The sudden sad death of Sylvia left a huge void at St. Peter’s Church.
A bundle of energy she raised thousands of pounds for both Church and Bakehouse. Indeed her last words were exhorting people to give towards Susan Moore’s Book Project.
Sylvia was also involved in many other activities such as The Friends of Roker Park, the Girl Guides, The Donnison School, etc. She also attended many Volunteer Days and recruited people as guides and welcomes and archivists at St Peters. I cannot imagine how she found the time! She was often the ‘butt’ of jokes in husband Max’s sermons I hope she will remain so as a fitting memorial to us all.
We thank God for all that Sylvia was and all the love she gave. May she rest in peace.
